Comments:
L'Eremo, as it's called, is a hermitage site on the side of Mt. Subasio
outside of Assisi. This is where St. Francis and his monks would go for
periods of seclusion; some of their stone huts are still standing along
the trails. L'Eremo means "hermitage" and "di Carceri" means "prison,"
so literally "the hermitage of prison cells"--as in their little
secluded huts. |

Ketchenjunga is the third highest peak in the Himalaya; it's a popular
attraction in Darjeeling to venture up to Tiger Mountain in the pre-dawn
hours to watch the inspiring sunrises. We had a perfect day for it. |
